The Lemur Query Log Toolbar is a FireFox Add-On (and still to come, a plugin for IE) that captures user browsing behavior specifically when loading web pages and generating search engine requests. A set of configuration options enable researchers and users to specify toolbar behavior. Privacy filters can be added that enable users to specify information that will not be collected and/or shared. User data is encrypted both on the local hard drive and during upload to the server to better protect privacy. The Lemur Toolbar for Firefox is part of the Lemur 4.7 software release. A version for Internet Explorer is planned for the December 2008 release.
