Saved Sets

A saved set is a set of search results that is given a name. Search and analysis can be done within a saved set in the same way as they are done within a full index. Searching and analyzing saved sets is a way to explore topics in depth. Saved sets can also be merged to create new saved sets.

The examples below show some uses of saved sets.

Example 1 - Creating a Saved Set

  1. Select the index from the Indexes pane.

  2. Select the Search tab in the right content tab pane.

  3. Enter search query: coffee.

  4. Click Save Search Results button.

  5. Enter the set name "coffee saved set" in the pop up window.

  6. The Coffee saved set will appear in the left navigation tree under the index name.

  7. Select coffee saved set in the left navigation to run Sifaka analysis only on the only the documents in this set.

Example 2 - Searching a Saved Set

  1. Select coffee saved set in the left navigation.

  2. The content pane will display the set properties as well as the original index properties.

  3. Select the Search tab in the content pane to search only the documents in the coffee saved set.

  4. Enter the search query: export.

  5. Click the Save Search Results button.

  6. Enter the set name "coffee export saved set" in the pop up window.

  7. Coffee export saved set will appear in the left navigation tree under coffee saved set.

  8. Enter the search query: import.

  9. Click the Save Search Results button.

  10. Enter the set name "coffee import saved set" in the pop up window.

  11. Coffee import saved set will appear in the left navigation tree under coffee saved set.

  12. Select these saved sets in the left navigation to run Sifaka analysis only the only the documents in the set.

Example 3 - Combining Saved Sets

  1. Select the index in the Left Navigation.

  2. Select the Search tab in the right content tab pane.

  3. Enter search query: tea.

  4. Click Save Search Results button.

  5. Enter the set name "tea saved set" in the pop up window.

  6. Right click on the index in the left navigation.

  7. Select Combine Sets from the context menu.

  8. Select coffee saved set and tea saved set from the pop up.

  9. Enter the set name "coffee and tea saved set" in the pop up window.

  10. Select coffee and tea saved set in the left navigation to run Sifaka analysis only the only the documents in this set.
